On the streets as cyclists, pedestrians or passengers in vehicles, our children sometimes forget the
safety rules or fail to wear safety equipment that can save their lives. At home, they face dangers
that can also easily lead to injury and death. All of these threats can be overcome with simple
and fundamental safety education. Several service clubs and safety minded corporations and
individuals have already thrown their support behind this community partnership.

Prevention of injuries is the most economical form of health care. Unintentional injury involving
vehicles and household hazards are the leading cause of death and injury among school age
children in London. How can we reduce this needless cost in terms of suffering and injury?

Building costs for the Children's Safety Village are estimated at 1.3 million. Both building and
maintenance costs will be raised through donations and special fundraising events.
